#BGIM IT IS AN HONOUR FOR YOU TO BE GIVEN ANY TASK TO DO

#BGIM BLESS GOD IT’S Monday

I believe your weekend was quite fulfilling as you ,most importantly, had the Needed Rest and Refreshment of your physical, mental and spiritual being. It’s Monday and it means it’s Time to work.

IT IS AN HONOUR FOR YOU TO BE GIVEN ANY TASK TO DO

I remember a time at work, when a friend of mine and myself were Pondering over an Issue. Among the higher hierarchy in my Department, the YOUNGEST among them, who was trailing the pack by about ’15 years of age’, was being TASKED to Do Most of the Tasks (whether ASSIGNED/ UNASSIGNED according to his ‘Job Roles and Responsibilities’). My friend was delighted as he said this, ‘Mr ‘Youngest’ might think he’s being USED(as most of us would call it) but Rather he’s Being Trained and Equipped for Greater Tasks and Roles ahead when the Older ones PHASE OFF.” I was taken ABACK by those words of wisdom from him.

Most of us, I believe, our Work Type would be classified as ‘EMPLOYED’ as opposed to ‘SELF-EMPLOYED’, hence we work REPORTING/ ACCOUNTING to someone above in Our Line of Work. Hence, we are USUALLY Given TASKS outside of Our Scope of ‘Job Responsibilities’, but when this happens, we ASSUME we are being ‘USED’ thinking why didn’t your SUPERIOR choose anybody else but YOU? Everybody is going for Break, or the weekend or Closing to Go Home, Everybody is in the Office, so why Send Me?; Nobody is Taking TASKS home to DO, Why is the STANDARD so High for me in any Tasks and so on and so forth.

But One (1) thing we mostly aren’t AWARE OF is that even if we are Deliberately Being USED, it is SERVING or TURNING OUT for Our Good. As you do all of these TASKS DILIGENTLY (and not Lackadaisically as most of us Do), you’re Developing VITAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCES to Help you on the way to the Top 👆 and to REMAIN there. Unknowing to your other Colleagues, you’re the ONE who is RECEIVING and UNDERGOING the BEST Capacity Development in that Enterprise or Corporation. I believe we all know that CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT, (from Last Week’s #BGIM) is Very INSTRUMENTAL in Launching the Enterprise to the Next Level of Growth, same as Launching your Personal CAREER to the Next Level.

So anytime you are Given any Task to do at work, at home, in school, in the community, church, mosque etc DON’T SEE it that You’re being USED but Consider it an HONOUR placed on you to be EQUIPPED and TRAINED.

BLESSINGS/GROWTH COMES ALONG WITH CHALLENGES

After yesterday‘s stories of Isaac and the Kenkey seller, I know we have thought of More Challenges that ACCOMPANIES Growth and Blessings and HOW TO OVERCOME/MANAGE THEM. A few of them would be Illustrated in this piece (as much as would be ENOUGH for Reading Comfort)

Once the Blessings begin to MANIFEST, we need to REVAMP our STOCK of Materials (whether raw, semi-, finished or auxiliary materials). You can’t keep ORDERING the SAME SIZE/STOCK when you’re Seeing Growth in the Business. One of the WORST Things that can Happen to your Business is to ‘SHORT’ Materials. Even if it is Poly bag for people to put what they PURCHASE from you, it is Very CATASTROPHIC.

CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT is a key Trademark â„¢ of any company that still stays at the Top. As the company/business Grows, every other INPUT needs to Grow so as to be at par. Training and Retraining (REFRESHER Courses) of yourself and all Employees should be PARAMOUNT to your Goals each year. Recruiting of people with the Needed/Missing Skills should not be Hesitated upon. If you badly need the Service of Someone who can TYPE ’50-70 words per minute’ to keep the Business running, Quickly DO THAT. Don’t let your Budget RESTRICT you from doing such, for the Reward of taking such a RISK would DEFINITELY be IMMENSE.

PROMPT DELIVERY. Humans esp. Ghanaians are naturally people who would Only NOTIFY you when the Time is near the NEED of your Service. Hence, like a Seamstress/Tailor if you Know you Can’t DELIVER on their Personally Induced LATE Deadline, Don’t ACCEPT to Offer your Service or better still Notify them of the Projected DELAY in Delivery due to their Delay. You know PROMPT DELIVERY, is why People would Pay MUCH for DHL and EMS as opposed to Postal Service.

Most importantly, IMPROVED CUSTOMER SERVICE. It’s your Good Customer Service that has brought More Customers, and to bring in more Customers and at the same not lose your Old Customers/ Patronisers, you have to IMPROVE to BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. People can come from far and near to see of what they have heard of your Business and like King Solomon, the Queen of Sheba should come and ATTEST that what she heard was not even up to HALF what she Came to SEE with her Naked Eyes  and that you’ve Greatly EXCEEDED her Expectations.

I believe with these few Outlined Challenges Time and Space has Allowed in this piece, I hope we would be able to Manage Any Challenge that Accompanies our BLESSINGS/GROWTH so that we would Constantly stay at the Top like Microsoft Corporation®.

Another working week starts for most of us after a Refreshing and Rejuvenating Weekend physically and spiritually.

BLESSINGS/GROWTH COMES WITH CHALLENGES

We pray for God to bless our business or simply the Work of our Hands like Isaac for which the Bible the records of him in Genesis 26:12

“Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him.”

But we forget that such Blessings comes with Challenges we have to work hard to Overcome in order to Benefit from them.

Just like Isaac, one Kenkey seller after giving an offering of all her proceeds sold for that Sunday of their church’s FUNDRAISING, had a QUANTUM JUMP in Sales such that she, who would had problems selling “One Round of Cooking” now Constantly had to Sell “Two Rounds of Cooking” to her Utmost Surprise and to her ‘UNDOING’ (Undoing in her own words and view).

Such that 3 months afterwards when she came to GIVE her Testimony in Church, she prayed her Church Leaders to plead with God to Reduce the Magnitude of Her Blessing because it has even affected her Church Attendance since that was her Next Day in church after the Fundraising/Mega Offering.

She had a CHALLENGE of HOW to Manage the Growth or Blessings in Business.

My mum upon hearing this story just said this is when WISDOM has to Come to Play. She should get a few more Helping Hands and that would solve the problem.

When we also check with Isaaac, he had Enough Servants to work for him. WISDOM he applied.

There are so many challenges that come with GROWTH and because some Don’t REALISE them, the Business/Work Grows but Can’t Maintain that Growth so Instead of Staying at the Top, they start Dwindling or Retrogressing after a while.

This is a Sad Situation of most Ghanaian businesses.

Let’s ASK OURSELVES

WHAT CHALLENGES DO I FACE BECAUSE OF GROWTH/BLESSINGS?

I would have preferred to Continue #TheSequel on Next Week’s #BGIM, but looking at the ENORMITY of this Truth, I would PRESENT the #SEQUEL tomorrow.

It’s An HONOUR For Someone To OFFER You A SERVICE

This is the PROMISED Sequel to Yesterday’s #BGIM -It’s An HONOUR For Someone To Patronize Your Service

Because it’s an HONOUR for you to Patronize someone’s service as his or her customer DOESN’T MEAN THAT, and I mean it to the fullest extent, you should DISRESPECT & LOOK DOWN on your Service Provider.

Because there are so many Recharge Cards Vendors around and you chose this particular one doesn’t mean you should TREAT the Vendor anyhow just because it’s your money that the vendor ‘DEPENDS’ on to make a living.

So that’s what you think, right???!!!

I am sure there’s been at least an instance in your lifetime where you really needed to buy Mobile Credit and you just couldn’t get some or you had a huge challenge even getting the expected amount you wanted. You ask when did that happen? Instances such as WHEN

  1. It is Raining ☔,
  2. You’re in a Car, Taxi or ‘Trotro’ and you urgently need to RETURN a call but you’re low on Credit

iii.When the vendor has closed

iv.The vendor didn’t report to work that day and you have to walk a longer distance and even sometimes go on a ‘Credit Seller Search’ to find one.

v.You go to a programme/event or a place where ‘Credit Sellers’ aren’t scattered all over the place. And you have to search in the middle of ‘NOWHERE’ and ask people so as to locate one DEAR Recharge Cards Seller.

It is then you would, pardon me to say, Come to your Senses that It’s NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Cos you have your money in your hand but the money Is Of NO USE to you now. I think at this moment that you would Realise that It Is Really An HONOUR for Someone to OFFER you a SERVICE because if you care to know that person can offer OTHER Services you Don’t Patronize and Still Make Ends Meet. BAM!!!

Honour RECEIVED should always be RETURNED.

Let’s learn to Treat Each Other well in Business because we all Depend on Each Other to Survive just as the Right hand bathes the left hand and vice-versa.

It’s An HONOUR For SOMEONE To PATRONIZE Your SERVICE

Another day to kick start the working week after a refreshing and relaxing weekend where I believe you spent QUALITY Time with your friends and family (including family in the Lord).

As we expect to see the manifestation of God’s blessings in our work this week and beyond, I want to draw our minds to a very essential CATALYST to MORE BLESSINGS. How we see/treat our work would in the same way CATALYSE (that is in both ways : Positively +++ or Negatively —) God’s blessings in our life.

YES, it’s TRUE that you are the one who has set up your own business or you work in that business or even you didn’t set up that business for everyone but if you hear the Complain by our Dear Market women that ‘Yennto Adea aa’-(Goods are not been bought) then you would indeed know that

IT IS AN HONOUR FOR SOMEONE TO PATRONIZE YOUR SERVICE.

If you sell Mobile Credit, know that it’s an HONOUR for someone to buy Scratch Cards from you cos there are so many Recharge Cards Vendors around. If you work in a Bank, know that there are so many Banks around. If you work in a shop such as Pharmacy, Mobile Phone/ Computer Shop, Provision Store, etc, know that there are so many similar shops around.

EVEN If you’re the only one in that vicinity, PEOPLE CAN GO to the next town or even city to patronize that same service.

It’s an HONOUR because the Customer out of the numerous choices or limited choices around, CHOSE YOUR SERVICE ABOVE ALL THE OTHERS. Hence, you also need to RETURN that HONOUR by SERVING the PERSON WELL that it’s why it is called SERVICE.

If you don’t know, that’s why highly successful companies don’t PLAY AROUND with Customer Service. MD of Stanbic Bank GH, Alhassan Andani says he can TOLERATE anything from his workers except POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. As for that one, NO WAY!!!

So let’s RETURN the Honour Customers placed on us for they would also RETURN that HONOUR by Bringing in MORE CUSTOMERS which we all know that BRINGS MORE BLESSINGS. BAM!!!

As I talk of this HONOUR we should give our CUSTOMERS, a #SEQUEL on the other side of the coin would be played tomorrow.

#BGIM I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS YOU

We thank for the weekend, which was a break from work so that we could relax and be refreshed physically, emotionally and spiritually. Monday is back again and it’s time to kick-start the manifestation of all the blessings received at church over the weekend.

I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS YOU

You go to a place of service and you’re treated poorly, later, when they are notified of your identity, they respond “I’M SORRY, I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS YOU”. How does that feel like?

A very telling personal experience I had was this, I went to buy Recharge Card and the person hadn’t set up her Umbrella as by 10am and I tried knocking on their main gate, for which she responded at a point. So I waited patiently for close to 5 minutes and she never came, so I humbly and majestically walked to another Vendor who was far off. A few days, the lady (an acquaintance I am quite free with) saw me and said it’s been a while since I came to buy Credit, then I told her I was stranded a few days ago behind her gate, for which she replied by the NOW BANDWAGON,

OH SORRY, I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS YOU.

#Thoughts

So what do you mean? If it was somebody else, you have remained happy to have treated that person that way???!!! Then I beg to DIFFER, indeed you’re going to MISS DUMBFOUNDING BLESSINGS and I mean it.

Father Abraham would definitely tell you how the promise of God concerning Isaac certainly came to pass.

Have you also treated someone as such before? Are you constantly treated as such at the various places of service? Then, indeed, we are all THROWING AWAY the blessings we so hardly want God to bless us with, by this Discriminatory, Partial & Selective Attitude of ours. That’s purely a POOR WORK ETHIC.

I think we need to all ADVISE ourselves this week and beyond.
