#BGIM Bless God It’s Monday THE DIFFERENCE

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND THEM

What’s the difference between you and all your other colleagues or competitors in the market? If you really want to make your Mother proud as seen in last week’s #BGIM by BEING THE BEST THERE IS IN YOUR FIELD, then get ready.

Why would somebody be chosen over you?
And why would you also be chosen over the other when it comes to award, promotion, praise, better placement or patronage of your service etc?

It’s simple. THE DIFFERENCE between you and the others.

Which of you(plural) would be chosen based on….???

-Who comes to work early? (Punctuality)

-Who is always at work? (Regular)

-Who works best even when he’s not supervised?

-Who keeps to Deadlines: Submission of forms, reports and money?

-Who is ready to do extra work for the company even without pay?

-Who uses his personal resources to augment or help the company in his little small way?

-Who has the best experience?

-Who has a better working relationship with all in the company (upwards, downwards or sideways)?

-Whose appraisal is better?

Anything as a difference can give the other the upper hand ✋.

Once upon a time, two workers in a company were supposed to go for an International Seminar and when their VISAS were applied for, one was accepted and the other decline. And the reason when I heard boggled my mind no matter how I saw it. The reason was simple: ONE HAD STRONGER TIES BACK TO HOME. Stronger ties to his home country means he’s married 💑 and hence would certainly come back home even with other job offers abroad.

And i am like WOOOOWWW! Being Married can give one a upper hand same as being Single can also give one the same advantage in another situation.

Then any notable difference is important.

What’s the difference then?
Is it a POSITIVE or negative difference?
If Positive, thumbs up 👍.

If Negative, then let’s get to work on it.

#BGIM Bless God It’s Monday Mothers Day Special

After celebrating mothers all across the world yesterday, #BGIM also celebrates mothers with a topic on the heart of every mother. Before anything else, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all mothers the world over.

MAKE YOUR MOTHER PROUD

The greatest heart desire of any mother is to see the children she has laboured, nurtured and catered for grow up to be Great Men and Women in the world: ACCOMPLISHED in their various fields. All a mother wants is to be PROUD anytime she hears 👂 the name or any news about her son 👦 or daughter 👧.

So i ask.
Are you making your mother proud of you?
Is she proud anytime she hears of your name?

If not, then we need to adjust ourselves. Your mother, i am sure, has been your longest standing supporter in whatever you’re doing. It might be true she mightn’t have supported your career path when you first began but TRUTH BE TOLD, she was the first to change her mind. And since then she is your one-man supporter before all other concerned supporters joined or are now joining.

So we have to make them proud. HOW???, you may ask. GIVE THE BEST & BE THE BEST in whatever you do such that when your success finally shows forth and everyone is now singing your praises, your mother would be at peace at last. Because after all her struggles in your childhood, adolescence and early adulthood, she would be HONOURED when people begin to ask WHO IS THE MOTHER of that Great Personality everyone is celebrating.

Make your mother proud by your deeds and actions. And that is a better wish for your mother on MOTHERS DAY.

#BGIM on a Tuesday MAY DAY Edition

After workers across the world over had taken that essential rest over the past two days via the May 1st Workers Holiday, most workers if not all are back to work this morning. So #BGIM is specially released on a Tuesday.

THE MONITORING EYE 👀

The most clear-cut difference between a thriving, performing workforce and the one that isn’t is the EYE 👀 that Monitors the work done by that workforce. The Results of a very functioning monitoring eye 👀 can never be overestimated. The Question therefore would be: WHO has this monitoring eye 👀 and HOW does it work.

If you’ve ever been under the WATCH 👀 of a Monitoring Eye before you would understand what I am saying. A few workers were working (NB: I didn’t say were lazing about) when suddenly one of them alerted the others that their supervisor had just come in. Suddenly everyone began to STRAIGHTEN UP 👆 in any way not noticeable by their Supervisor. Though everyone was working, JUST ONE MONITORING EYE 👀 was able to put everyone back on their toes.
THAT’S IT!!!

Yes! That’s what brings about the EXTRA margins of productivity, efficiency and profit in any corporation. Nobody would attempt cutting corners or even lazy about when work is there to be done.

It is an undeniable fact that the Leadership/Management of any successful organisation monitor almost anything being done in their organisation, whether by themselves or by the powers of Delegation. Monitoring means you check everything possible that needs to be checked at PRE-, DURING & POST-WORKING Hours. Monitor things like use of raw materials, use of financial resources, use of incentives, use of time, use of communication devices, use of transport mechanisms, use of authority and power, use of workers amongst so many other things.

Monitoring demands that people be accountable for whatever they do. So leadership has every right to question ‘Why this or that was done?’; Why that and that was not done?’. And if no reasonable answer is given, STRICTNESS should quickly set into play otherwise soon and very soon that LAPSE would cost everyone in the Company, Family, Institution, Community or Nation something bigger and more catastrophic.

So if you want to see the best from your workforce, always put on a FUNCTIONAL MONITORING EYE 👀 around. Not that your workers would not do the right thing or you don’t trust them but that everybody needs to be on his toes for the OVERALL GOOD of the establishment.
